PLAYOFF TEAMS STATS

On with the first ever Brassworld playoffs!

We all know that a fair portion of what happens in a short series is a crap shoot. Still, it’s worth it to see how each team fared in the regular season against all other playoff-bound teams, and how teams who are going to square off in Round 1 did against each other. Here are the results:

One last piece of information that may or may not tell us anything about the relative strength of each division. I just thought it was a fun thing to look at.

OVERALL RECORD FOR EACH DIVISION AGAINST OUT-OF-DIVISION AND OUT-OF-LEAGUE TEAMS (552 games)

Division             Wins          Losses

Ruth                       284            268

Mays                      264            288

And now a quick look at the first round matchups.

FIRST ROUND MATCHUPS

Matchup (higher seed on the right)     Wins                ERA                OPS

Williamsburg-Waukesha  6-6                      4.38-3.79 .760-.805

Greenville-Plum Island                                4-8           3.54-3.95        .681-.747

West Oakland-Maryland 5-9                      4.06-3.83 .748-.792

Virginia-Abilene                                          6-8           3.64-3.68        .777-.750

There are quite a few very tough teams in there. The playoffs promise to be most interesting. Good luck to all!

Finally: thanks to all for a great Brassworld inaugural season. Among other things I had a lot of fun playing games and interacting with other managers via NetPlay. This league has rapidly and without a doubt become one of the very best PBM leagues around.
